Black Swans are an innovative method of yo-yo fishing where no visible structure is required. Black Swans allow the angler to capitalize on all the benefits of a yo-yo while gaining the functionality of jugs, noodles or trot lines.

The main advantages of Black Swans over conventional jugs, noodles or trot lines are that fish detection and bait loss are easily recognized. The geometric design of the Black Swans provides stability and balance – even on large fish. Fish netting and removal is simple and when premium circle hooks are used in conjunction with the Black Swans, few – if any – fish are lost. Black Swans are excellent for catfish, crappie and bass in the south and could easily be used for ice fishing during the winter months further north.

Black Swans are labeled with highly reflective tape, allowing them to be easily located in the dark. They are easy to deploy and retrieve, with minimal storage space required when using our convenient collapsible carry bag that holds two dozen Black Swans.

Tips & Tricks

Black Swans are ready to use right out of the box. However, we’ve found that with a few extra tricks, you can get a much better results. Here’s a few of our favorites:

Raw shrimp (60 – 80 count from Wal-Mart) seem to work best for catching catfish. Worms also work when they don’t seem to want shrimp.
Minnows during the daytime hours work great for a combination of crappie and catfish.
